ConsumerLab.com tested popular supplements with chromium including EZ-Trim, Thermosculpt, and TRIMSPA, as well as products by Life Extension, MegaFood, New Chapter, and Nutrilite.

Only 25% of the labeled amount of chromium was in one product. Another product contained 42% more chromium than claimed, yielding an amount of potential concern for toxicity. This product and one other were found to contain relatively high levels of hexavalent chromium, a potential carcinogen and toxin. Only four chromium products passed testing. But negative effects may occur in some people.
